Beschreibung: "Better literacy start" - the New Zealand model for language health and educational success will be presented at this Life Symposium by the Department of Phoniatrics and Paediatric Audiology at Münster University Hospital and the Hearing and Speech Committee of the Union of European Phoniatrists (UEP). Various speakers will talk about different topics related to the project and the possibilities for improving children's language skills.

The symposium will be chaired by Prof Katrin Neumann, Director of the Department of Phoniatrics and Paediatric Audiology at Münster University Hospital, Germany.
She will be joined by Prof. Gail Gillon, Founding Director of the Child Well-being Research Institute at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, Dr. Megan Gath, Senior Lecturer in the Child Well-Being Research Institute and Dr. Amy Scott, Senior Lecturer and Programme Coordinator for the Better Start Literacy Approach microcredentials at the institution, who will present and explain the ‘Better literacy start’ project.
In addition, Dr phil. Lars Meyer, head of the ‘Language Cycles’ research group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig (Germany), will talk about the possibilities of enhancement therapy.

The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion and plenty of opportunities for social networking.  

The virtual symposium is credited with 7+1 credit points by the Ärztekammer Westfalen Lippe (Medical Association of Westphalia Lippe).
